Hidden Now Heard ..
11 February 2017 until 25 March 2017
The first pan-Wales project of its kind captures a hidden and often painful part of Wales’ history which is at a risk of being lost forever unless recorded. The three year project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund focusses on six long-stay hospitals with exhibitions happening across six regional museums.
This exhibition focuses on the stories of former staff and patients from Llanfrechfa Grange Hospital allowing the public a glimpse of what it was like to grow up and spend up to forty years living in an institution. It has been interpreted using oral history interviews, recreating parts of the hospital, displaying historical documents, images and artifacts donated by staff and patients
The project is funded by The Heritage Lottery Fund, Welsh Government and Mencap Cymru
