Engagement with our local community is central to the Arts Centre's ethos. We aim to provide a rich and lively learning resource. Striving to have an inclusive approach; we offer many different ways of learning, giving everyone a chance to become actively engaged with the visual arts and crafts.
In recent years the Arts Centre has provided creative outreach workshops and activities for: the Alzheimers Society, Pontypool Carnival, the Urdd Eisteddfod and National Eisteddfod, Torfaen County Borough Council, Torfaen Libraries and Gwent NHS Trust amongst others.
Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre can provide longer term artist-in-residence projects working with community organisations. Recent projects have included a touring exhibition of work created by the centre's Alzheimers and Befrienders art class. This exhibition has toured a number of hospitals in South Wales helping raise awareness for the benefits the visual art can bring to those affected by dementia.
