Criw Celf provides extra-curricular activities for artistically talented young people through inspirational visual art and craft workshops. The workshops, facilitated by professional artists, are aimed at developing the skills and confidence of participants and encouraging the take up of arts based qualifications.
Run as a Wales-wide programme, Criw Celf is supported and funded by the Arts Council of Wales. For residents of Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen the programme is run by Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre.
When and Where do workshops take place?
Workshops will take place on Saturdays (10am - 12 or 1pm - 3pm depending on which Saturday of the month) at Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre. Each student attends nine workshops (one per month) between October 2016 and June 2017.
Each month has a different theme and you have the choice of which Saturday in the month you attend (subject to spaces being available).
What ages can join the programme?
For 2016/17 Criw Celf in South East Wales focusses on children in schools years 7,8 & 9.
Is there a cost?
Due to funding from the Arts Council of Wales the programme for the full year costs £36 (nine workshops). The cost includes all tuition fees and all materials.Full payment must be received to confirm your place.
How are students selected?
Potential participants can be nominated by a professional teacher or by an Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre tutor. Anyone interested in being considered is encouraged to contact us on 01633 483321.
