The half world between human and animal
The zoomorphic transformation of humans taking on animal form has been part of folklore and religion for millennia, from native American skin walkers, Egyptian gods and the creatures of European fairytales. These hybrids explore the imagery of fantasy and magic but also the essential animal instinct behind all human nature. The work in this exhibition explores the half world between human and animal through ceramics, textiles and print.
